When and how do I propagate a clump of Hemerocallis?

Our Advice:

Commonly called day lily, Hemerocallis are propagated by division in early autumn or early spring. Discard any old woody or rotten parts of the clumps (usually found in the centre). Keep young vigourous sections (usually found on the outside of the clump) which have both leaves and a strong root system, for replanting.
