You can propagate Strelitzia by splitting or dividing the clump in the spring, just before the new growth starts. Remove any old or damaged leaves and dead flower stalks as well as any dead or damaged roots. Repot the divisions into smaller pots in a peat-based multipurpose potting compost and water it well to settle the compost.
