When is the best time to prune an overgrown Myrtle bush?

Our Advice:

The best time is in late-spring. Start by removing any dead, frost damaged, dying or obviously diseased stems and any rubbing branches. You could reduce the overall volume of the bush by about one third but this will reduce the amount of flowers in the summer. After pruning feed the plant with a general fertiliser and water it in.
