When is the best time to take cuttings of roses?

Our Advice:

Roses can be rooted from 10 cm (4in) long, semi-ripe cuttings taken in late-summer. Insert into 50% multi-purpose compost mixed with 50% sand and use rooting hormone. Cover the cuttings with a polythene bag to prevent the leaves drying out.
