RHS People's Choice votes announced at Virtual Chelsea Flower Show

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has revealed the winners of its People's Choice Votes at the Virtual RHS Chelsea Flower Show (18-23 May), sponsored by M&G Investments.

Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum Kilimanjaro Sunrise ('Jww5') was crowned RHS Chelsea Plant of the Decade after virtual visitors cast their votes throughout the show which closed on Saturday 23 May.

Visitors selected the Japanese snowball from the line-up of previous winners of the RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year competition that is held at the world-famous show each year.

Bred by Jan Willem Wezelenburg in Holland, the plant was originally crowned the title in 2015 when it was exhibited at the show by Burncoose Nurseries. White flowers, featuring a pink blush, stand out against the dark green foliage, and appear in profusion all the way up this elegantly tiered plant. Its compact habit is ideal for containers or hedging.

The special RHS Plant of the Decade celebrates the competitionís tenth anniversary after it was launched in 2010 to support and promote the work of breeders and nurseries in producing improved and exciting new plants.

Wilstone's Potting Table was the Peopleís Choice favourite for the RHS Chelsea Garden Product of the Year. Made from galvanised steel and recycled teak for durability, this lightweight Potting Table has carry handles for easy moving, two drawers, shelf and a uniquely designed extend-able worktop revealing a compost store for plant potting.

The announcement follows the Vegebag by Vegepod UK being awarded the 2020 RHS Chelsea Garden Product of the Year title by a panel of expert judges earlier this week. The full shortlists are available below.

The winners have been revealed as the virtual show draws to a close. This is the first time the competitions have been open for Peopleís Choice as the world-famous show goes online after having to cancel the event at the Royal Hospital Chelsea due to Covid-19.
