ManoMano reveals that Brits are getting ready to host outdoors this spring, with sales of gazebos, parasols, BBQs and garden tables soaring by as much as 1700% in February compared to last year.
As the nation gets set for the planned easing of lockdown restrictions on the 29th March - that will allow groups of six to mix outdoors and in private gardens - Brits have begun preparing their outdoor spaces for the occasion. Sales of pergolas and gazebos were up 588% in February compared to 2020, whilst garden parasol sales saw a 934% increase on ManoMano.
The marketplace specialising in DIY, Home and Gardening has also seen sales of garden dining sets and BBQs increase by 1709% and 362% respectively as customers get set to dine al fresco over the Easter holidays. In a bid to keep the kids entertained over the upcoming holidays, sales of outdoor garden games have also risen by 383% year on year.
The rising interest in home DIY projects over the past year has also appeared to inspire Brits. As they look to perform some garden renovations ahead of their outdoor entertainment sessions, views of the ‘DIY Fire Pit’ blog available on The Handy Mano increased by 68% on the week of the government roadmap announcement, compared to the previous week.
A ManoMano spokesperson comments, “With Brits eagerly awaiting the time they can gather with family and friends again outdoors, our sales show that customers are looking to create comfy outdoor spaces to entertain a small number of guests over the spring and summer. We were blown away by the creative DIY projects our customers took on during 2020 and we are looking forward to seeing their garden glow ups for the new season.”
