In a move to foster greener communities, Westland Horticulture has unveiled the New Horizon Fund, dedicated to backing community garden projects throughout the UK and Ireland in the upcoming year.
The New Horizon Fund is designed to sow the seeds of a greener tomorrow by providing support to various gardening initiatives. From schools and allotments to hospices and care homes, the fund aims to nurture projects that enhance green spaces across the UK and Ireland.
The funding package includes a curated assortment of gardening essentials, ranging from compost and seeds to tools and fertilizers, all supplied by Westland Horticulture. Each prize bundle, valued at £1,000, will be tailor-made for the specific needs of the chosen projects, empowering them to transform their spaces into thriving gardens.
Westland Horticulture encourages nominations for deserving gardening projects that could benefit from a donation through the New Horizon Fund. Multiple prize draws are scheduled throughout the year in March, June, and September. At each stage, at least five bundles will be awarded, offering ample opportunities for local causes to receive support. The final submission deadline is September 1, 2024.
According to Westland Horticulture, the fund grows with every sale of their New Horizon peat-free compost. This ensures a continuous contribution to gardening projects, creating outdoor spaces that reap the benefits of a greener environment.
