Ryobi ONE+ 18V OPT1845 Cordless Pole Hedge Trimmer Review

Rating: 4.4 out of 5 (from 1672 reviews)

The Ryobi ONE+ 18V OPT1845 Cordless Pole Hedge Trimmer is a versatile gardening tool that is capable of easily cutting through hedges and branches. It is equipped with 45cm diamond ground blades that provide clean cutting results. The hedge trimmer is also capable of cutting large branches with an 18mm blade gap, making it suitable for various garden maintenance tasks. The articulating cutting head can be adjusted to 115 degrees with 4 positions, allowing for versatile trimming in different directions and angles. Additionally, the extension shaft can be removed for a full length of 2.9m, making it ideal for extended reach tasks. The hedge trimmer comes with a blade sheath and a shoulder strap for added convenience during use. It is also part of the ONE+ system, which means it can be used with other compatible batteries and chargers from the same range.

What users think:

The Ryobi pole trimmer has received mixed reviews from users. Many users have praised the tool, reporting that it cuts through vegetation with ease and feels sturdy and well made. The trimmer's sharp blades and powerful motor make it an effective tool for pruning. Additionally, owners have noted that the Ryobi pole trimmer does not clog and is relatively quiet. However, some users have reported that the Ryobi is heavy and unwieldy, which can make it challenging to manoeuvre. Additionally, the placement of the switch has been criticised for being poorly designed

Direct quotes from owners:

It appears to be well built, quite sturdy, pole doesn't bend and it all seems to fit together well. It also cuts quite thick branches.

The switch is in the worst possible position being a long way behind you in use because the balance point is a long way up the pole, this means that your switch-hand has to be held at a very strained angle

It very front/top heavy though when using the full length and I found it very hard to manoeuvre at this length. It's done what I wanted it to do though, but it would just be easier if I was 20 years younger.

Price: £169.95
