It could be said that Singapore, also known as a City in Nature, is synonymous with gardens. This is true especially in 2022, as the city-state is home to inspiring national garden and premium horticultural attraction, Gardens by the Bay, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary.
With the Singapore Garden Festival, taking place on 30 July - 9 August 2022 and a commitment to sustainable development through the Singapore Green Plan 2030, the nation's dedication to all things flora and fauna is evident in all corners of the country.
Gardens by the Bay celebrates its 10th Anniversary on 29 June, 2022.
Having blossomed into a destination of wonder for over 80 million guests since it was first introduced to Singapore and the world in 2012, the attraction showcases the best of garden and floral design. Celebrating its 10 years in operation, Gardens by the Bay has been announced as one of the Royal Horticultural Society's 2022 partner gardens.
A sanctuary for nature lovers and budding horticulturalists alike and spanning 249.5 acres in the heart of Singapore's downtown Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay comprises three waterfront gardens: Bay South, Bay East, and Bay Central. It is a must-visit destination for horticulture and garden artistry that presents the plant kingdom in a whole new way, entertaining while educating visitors with plants ranging from those used to temperate climates, to others more at home in tropical forests and habitats.
Specialised areas including the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and OCBC Skywalk allow visitors to get up close to the spectacular nature on show, whilst learning more about the history and conservation of the unique organisms.
Entry to Gardens by the Bay is free, but tickets to specific attractions and domes must be purchased in advance. Tickets are from £5 per person, dependent on activity.
