Violas can grow well in pots and containers, but there are some common mistakes that can cause them to struggle. One of the most common reasons for poor growth in pots or containers is a lack of drainage. Violas need well-draining soil to prevent water from pooling at the roots and causing root rot. Make sure the container has drainage holes and add a layer of gravel or broken pottery to the bottom of the pot. Also, ensure the pot is the right size for your viola plant.
